pretty disappointing release unfortunately, but the show is still great and maybe even better than i remembered! i'll talk more about it as i go through the series. i think it's less emotionally effective hopefully those last two issues get fixed. epic i've also heard some of the lines have been changed because of the new translation, most of these aren't too significant but shinji's iconic line at the beginning of end of eva has been toned down, apparently to make it more accurate to the original japanese. most of the text just isn't translated? they just forgot? bruh -during the second episode the subtitles just went out of sync halfway through. pretty disappointing but fairly understandable i guess? maybe they should have used the money they spent on the dub to keep it in there instead. fly me to the moon is no longer the ED, i assume because netflix was unwilling to pay the license. i honestly prefer the 90s dub, cheesy and dated as it is, because it at least has charm to it and doesn't leave me bored to tears. there's no real passion in the voice acting, seems like everyone was there just to get paid. the line delivery feels unconvincing and forced. The show finally dropped on netflix and i'm beginning my re-watch of it now! some notes from the first few episodes: -while i was planning to watch it subbed anyway, i decided to have a look at the new dub and it's… not good.
